Studio is a marketplace where customers in Australia discover and book appointments with barbers, salons and independent stylists — and where those businesses run their day, from the calendar to getting paid.
We are building it now. It is not yet open to the public.
How it works
For customers
Find barbers and salons nearby, see real availability, and book a specific time with a specific person. Pay in the app or at the chair, depending on how the salon works.
For businesses
List your services, staff and opening hours. Take bookings into a calendar that cannot be double-booked, hold a card against no-shows, and see what you have earned.
Payments
Customers pay the salon, not Studio. The salon is the merchant of record for every booking, and its own name appears on the customer's statement.
Pricing
10%
A commission on each completed booking taken through Studio, deducted from the payment before it reaches the business. GST inclusive.
No monthly fee, no setup fee, and nothing to pay on a booking that is cancelled within policy. Customers pay the price the salon sets — Studio's commission comes out of the salon's share, and is never added on top.
What Studio is
Studio operates a two-sided booking platform. Businesses — barbers, salons, and independent stylists — list their services, staff and availability. Customers browse, book and pay for appointments through the Studio apps.
Payments are processed by Stripe. Studio facilitates the transaction and collects a commission; the business supplies the service and is the merchant of record for it. Funds are settled to the business's own account.
Studio operates in Australia only.
